New drum mics from Shure, purchased as a kit DMK57-52.  The Beta-52A is the best bass drum mic that we have used, and a set of SM-57 mics with specialized drum clamps can be used for individual drums, cymbols or even for guitar amps or other instruments.

An additional DCM2500 power amp boosts our power up to 5000W, OR up to another 1000W available for stage monitors.

Elation DMX Operator (lighting controller)

First used on Dec 6th at the Directed Electronics Big Bash Holiday Party.  The Beta58 mics were an upgrade from standard SM58 and sound incredible!  The stage lighting was used in sound-activated mode, so the controller was not used that night... more to come!  See our FAQ page regarding the additional equipment.

SkyShow Event!!!  Come see and hear Full Monty performing at the SDSU Aztecs football pre-game event at Aztec Village. 

October 11th, prior to SKYSHOW XXXIII at Qualcomm Stadium!

We had the unique opportunity to provide live sound at Qualcomm Stadium this month.  Full Monty performed at the SDSU Aztecs football pre-game event outside the stadium.  See our Photo Album for a view of the stage!

We have added a pair of Carvin LM15 speakers and stands to the system.  We are using these as full-range mains for small venues (fed from the subwoofers), and have also used them as side-fill monitors.  The LM15 can also be turned on its side for use as a monitor wedge.  They produce good SPL for their size, rated at 475W @ 8Ω, and are extremely durable!!!  We know this from experience :-(  Check the blog in the near future for how we have "tested" the durability of the LM15.

Who we are:

ProActive Sound was founded by a musician, for musicians and music lovers alike.  We take pride in providing quality sound for any event.  Some of our discounts are geared toward school activities because we want to promote musicianship and music appreciation to the youth of San Diego County.

Our PA rentals are based on years of experience in making music and presenting quality sound to the audience.   This something that we enjoy and want to share with young musicians.  Live music is the best way for a starting musician to gain skills and experience.  We believe it is very important for musicians to learn active listening as well as playing.  Being part of a band playing live builds on these skills.  And of course when the band sounds it's very best through a quality, powerful PA system this provides the most positive experience for a young musician. 

Our DJ services provide quality sound power for people who love to hear the music and not the noise, distortion, or chatter.
